When I think of Stevie, I think of the dog tag I had made that I look at every day in my dog room: "Stevie Nickie - The Best Girl". And she truly was. She was named after Stevie Nicks, one of my favorite singers. It's hard to put into words what she meant to me, just like her mama Idgie, I've been blessed with girls who are exemplary examples of what a Labrador temperament should be. She did whatever I asked of her. She was my consummate ambassador, snuggle bug, best sleep buddy, and lover of all people and critters. She had a fetish for frogs that she'd stalk in the pool but would never harm, rather preferring to engage in staring contests. She was an amazing mama, going through so much for them. She was my first Labrador (hopefully the only!!) to meet a porcupine on our hikes when exploring a fallen tree stump. What a trooper she was patiently letting me pull those quills off her muzzle.
I'm truly saddened to not have something from her to move forward with, having lost her daughter, Fergie, before I had a litter with her. Stevie's litter by Hemi, Ch. Arlon HySpire Bohemian Ink, brought so many people love and joy. Froggy was a famous Labrador among the Aspen ski community and Hingham, MA neighborhood; Olive and Millie are still treasured by Nycoma Way families in Vermont with their third and second Nycoma Way puppies; and Lexi is loved by a Nycoma Way family in MA who now have their second puppy from us.

Stevie made me so proud in the show ring. In limited showing she had a Specialty Reserve Winners Bitch from the 9-12 Month Puppy class, Best Puppy in Specialty, and multiple Best Veteran in Specialty and Best Veteran in Sweepstakes.
