Joy's litter was born the day before the historic solar eclipse, right on her due date. We had a snow storm that week leaving us with over 8" of new snow to navigate. Joy had a preference to deliver her pups out in that snow with our firstborn, Thor, captured by my quick hands and towel. Second born, Ullr, wasn't so lucky and plopped out right in the snow, hence his name. Our third boy was also born outside in my hands. Our last two were born later and out of the cold. Joy was a natural Mama just like her dam, Andi, and all before her. We are truly blessed by that natural instinct and care. She made the first three weeks easy with me searching for something to clean up but could never find. We thoroughly enjoyed nurturing these babies as we moved them to the dog room, set up their indoor and outdoor puppy areas, and then began teaching them recall and exploration in the fully fenced yard. We are so grateful to the families who have pups from this litter, all second time families with one who still has a 13 year old from us. We treasure our long-time families and their love for our dogs. We have high hopes for the future, with Ullr and Petunia carrying on the Nycoma Way tradition.
