Idgie is
an amazing, once in a lifetime bitch. She is too big for most, but I
love her just the same.
Idgie embodies the type, balance, and structure I desire, and endearing temperament that I strive
to emulate--size is secondary.
She is my heart dog, the girl who has given me so much in the whelping box
and out.
Idgie senses my moods and is so in tune with me. She's kind-hearted, goofy,
and naughty when I need her to be.
An amazing worker with incredible marking ability, she completed her JH and
CD titles in straight tests.
Idgie has a Specialty Best
of Winners, Supported Entry 4-pt major, multiple Specialty placements,
Specialty Best Bred-By's, and Specialty Best Brood Bitch wins.
Even though she may not finish her breed championship, she will always be a
true champion in my eyes and heart.
She is affectionately known as "Beebe", "Idgie Beebe", and "Mama Beebe".
(Once they become mamas, we can say "Mama X" to anything. They've earned the
right.)
Sometimes
people ask, "Where did her name come from?" And I say,
"Why, the novel and film Fried Green Tomatoes, of course!"
